Introduction paragraphs

Today, in AP Lit we practice making a introduction body paragraph. We used the Umbrella thesis statement to come up with words to describe Lady Macbeth. With all the words we came up with, the one word to describe them all was manipulator.

My Blackness is Everything to me.

My Blackness means everything to me. Being Black means I sometimes get to wear my hair straight or sometimes curly with no troubles. Being Black means my skin glows under every angle from the sun, thanks to "OUR" special gift from the universe. It's called Melanin by the way. Being Black means having rhythm when there isn’t a beat being played physically, but one that is being played within my soul. Being Black means I have to go a little bit harder than the "SUPERIOR" race, so "THEY" think. Being Black means I have to have thick skin in order to survive, so "THEY" say. “You’re” by Sylvia Plath

Today in AP Lit, we read “You’re” by Sylvia Plath. This poem had a great amount of similes in them, that made me kind of confused at first, but when I decided to re-read it again I found some clarity. I took from the poem that the speaker was talking about a small or unborn child. The similes really gave the poem a mystery, making me even more interested in finding out what it was about.
